The Market was developed, through community consultation to include, along with the market space, a focus on open, outdoor, public gathering space.
As part of the Dalhousie University FreeLab Design/Build, Jeff Adams and I led a group of architecture students in the 2-week design and build of this bus shelter. The store is the hub of this community, in many ways, and the end of the line for the city bus.
coup salon has found its home in a very small space in a heritage building at the edge of Vancouver's China Town. On a quiet side street the bright facade draws attention to the new use while fitting neatly into the existing paint scheme and complying with the cities heritage regulations.
